This is pretty much what I was thinking but I think I can also get a turn donker to try to check raise (giving me a free showdown) when his draw hits on the river by showing more aggression.

The problem with this line of thinking is:
a) it also lets him fold a bluff or a weak hand that he might bet the river with
b) he may just bet if he makes a flush, putting you in a tough spot (can you fold to one more bet after bloating the pot on the turn?)
c) your hand won't improve very often (2 outs) so it's unlikely that you will want to push farther
