Villain is a 40/20 LAG who overplays hands postflop. Open raised AK from the CO, got c/r'ed on a low flop UI and 3bet, then bet the turn and checked through the riv.

I'm pretty sure there's plenty of value in a river bet when checked to vs. this guy. He's played it like a monster with the turn sexy which includes a bunch of sets and 2pair hands that would easily call one more. He's obviously not a maniac though, so how often am I chopping or winning vs. this checkraise?

I think this is a great bet. You have to pay it off because some LAG is liable to raise KQ here on the river without thinking/without noticing the texture of the board. Or just because he's a LAG.

Getting c/r'ed sucks, but I definitely think there's value in a bet. Call the c/r.

I don't think you have to be LAGtarded to c/r bluff this river. Opponent has a lot of fold equity, and the original poster doesn't need a straight to bet when checked to.

What if, instead of a straight, the original poster had KT? A fold is probably in order there, even though opponent could very well be making a move with JQ, JT, etc...

Anyway, the point is - it would be a bad to fold a straight here because it's not unreasonable to expect a thinking LAG to bluff.

id expect a LAG to bet this river with an A more often than he'd c/r it, so I call. also, i like the rest of your line.

Glad you all agree on the value bet. I made the crying call to be shown AdQd. His play with a hand like that makes it all the more likely he could also checkraise that river with a loser, so the call seems in order.
