what are you up to? Do you drink a bunch of beer and play the 11s? I'm lost.

Yes. And I'm lost as well.

Cha and YellowJacket are on to something here... My original question was "What would induce you to continue in the hand?"

The fact that you have a royal flush draw and two cards to come.

Yah, that entered my mind as well. We all know how this turns out. Hero calls, turn is 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], river is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

Hero triples up and pwns until ITM when he runs (you guessed it... AJd into JJ and takes second Booo!

My bet on the flop was meant to induce a single caller. However, since they both came in with all barrels blazing, the overlay was too much to give up and the math said to call so I did.

BTW, this game was played as part of a skill set (practice if you will) that helps me improve weak areas of my game. This was supposed to be a drill to work on my OOP play, so I guess it worked out this time around.

Thanks for the input and posts. Gotta go play pool now. Probably luck into a 4 railer to sink the 8 and win the league title.....

Folding PF is the default play here to be sure. Just frisky and not hammered (yet).

So.... Here we go with some of the rest of the story:

I'd probably limp pf because I'm a donk but yeah, I guess folding pf is right.. Other than that, check the flop.

Thank you sir! May I have another?

Actually, this is a spot we find ourselves in a lot more often than we think. If you disregard the 1st hand part, this hand typifies the sort of conditions that happen a lot during SNGs. OOP with a hand that you might push with or call with given a different circumstance, blind level or position.

It's not about the hand, more about thinking creatively given the information available. I believe that there are opportunities that I miss repeatedly (especially in the 12-15 BB range) because of my inherent lack of imagination and adherence to ABC poker.

This particular "drill" helps me to occasionally play differently than what would normally be expected. Not this particular hand/position/blind level, but in general to become more rounded.

I was certain to be behind on the flop, of this there is no doubt. Considering the hands that could beat me IF I hit was my only concern in this exercise. Since KK or AA was already shoving here (maybe QQ/AK/AQ), none of those hands had a bearing on my decision to call. No other hands would shove this way... Or would they?

In case you are interested, the other 2 donktasticadildos had: MP1[ Kc, Qs ] two pairs, kings and queens.
SB [ 3h, 3d ] three of a kind.

$11's are my new home...

This is a fold because its a speed, right? If its a regular is making it 120 from that position that bad?
