Foxwoods $1-2N comps at $1/hr. If I'm not mistaken, this is the same as bigger NL games, no?

i've ranted about this before, but what was wrong with the old 2-4 NL $300 min/max game?

and if foxwoods felt the need to up it to 2-5 $500 max, why didn't they up the 1-2 game to $200 max?

problem is i hate buying in for less than the max, and right now $500 is a little out of my comfort zone...

You can buy in comfortably for the $300 at the 2/5 while if you buy in for the 40 at the 1/2 you'll be forced to go all in the first hand you play typically.

Well, yeah, but you left out that you'll have JJ against Q8s preflop and then you'll likely have $80, almost a full stack, half of which used to be your opponent's.

In all seriousness, I'm reaching both the confidence in my NL game and the bankroll where I'm going to stop buying in short in that game. It's probably still slightly +EV to play a short stack, but it's gotta be much much more +EV to have the max given how bad the play is.

Sorry. I wish I could predict when my tangential questions would blow a thread so far off course.

Well, that explains the max, as it does in all the limited buyin small stakes games. But why wouldn't they want to keep the $2-5 fish from going broke too fast, too?

[/ QUOTE ]

because theres always somebody on the waiting list.. much like 1/2 NL.. so they cant lose.

ahh.. the wonder of it all.
