So even the flop cap was out of order? This was only the 2nd hand at the table, so I was treating him as an unknown. I figured he could have an inferior hand and bet back at me thinking I whiffed overcards, which is why I capped. When he called the cap, I probably knew I was beat, but my brain refused to acknowledge it.

The turn raise I realize now was stupid. I should have just gone into call down mode at that moment and saved myself 2 bets. I don't think folding this hand at any point is an option without a good read.

Call the flop 3 bet. Villain obviously likes his hand. Maybe has 77, 88 for a set.

Call the turn bet, fold unimproved on river.

You could fold this for one bet on the river against an unknown?
