Re: $50k WSOP HORSE event to be televised
Hey I enjoy split pot games as much as anyone, and, although I might not be very good at them, will play the occasional HORSE tourney. I just started playing poker over a year ago, so I'm taking it one game at a time. However, watching a table playing O8B (and the like), having the dealer count out the pot, and splitting it each hand is not very exciting television. The games are fun to play, but they do not lend themselves to good television.

Brunson checkraise Greenstein there. - Wow, you can see Greenstein did NOT see that coming. What's this? Greenstein RERAISES! Wow, monster pot here. - And the river card is the 2c. - Bet, raise, reraise. Barry caps it. Brunson thinks about it...and calls. - Brunson has high with an A hi flush, Barry has a 64 low. They each get their money back. Next hand. |

Re: $50k WSOP HORSE event to be televised
You guys know that poker on TV is highly edited right?
For example, they probably won't show any split pots between 2 players. For another example, they can edit the part where the dealer is counting the chips, but show the showdown and the chips being pushed. |

Also of note is that the dates of this event and the 2-7 event have been changed. [/ QUOTE ] http://www.cardplayer.com/poker_news...l.php?p_id=969 "The dates for the $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E event scheduled for this year’s World Series of Poker have been changed. Previously scheduled to begin July 25, the three-day H.O.R.S.E. tournament will now take place July 12-14. The two-day $5,000 buy-in 2-7 draw lowball tournament originally scheduled to begin July 12 will now be held July 25-26. The events were switched to accommodate TV coverage. The H.O.R.S.E event is the most expensive buy-in event ever offered by the WSOP. The mixed game was added after players complained that the series was dominated by no-limit hold’em. The game rotates between no-limit Texas hold’em, Omaha, razz, seven-card stud, and seven-card stud eight-or-better." |

I thought that Omaha Hi/Lo was used in H.O.R.S.E. or is it PLO?

Re: $50k WSOP HORSE event to be televised
My naïve hope is that they cherrypick some footage from the outer tables to use as "The Nuts"-type interludes. It'd be a cool way of profiling each player at final table: show some crazy they won or lost at Omaha, razz, etc. to get where they are in chips.

Re: $50k WSOP HORSE event to be televised
It's Omaha Hi/Lo, and it's supposed to be all limit events until the final table, when it'll be no-limit holdem. At the 5k HOSE event at Caesar's, it was supposed to be NL at the final table, but there was an agreement among the final table to keep playing HOSE.
