Is overbetting the flop retarded? I honestly have no idea, I'm just switching from limit to NL.

-If you're behind on the flop you're stacking off somehow regardless, so in this case your bet size is pretty irrelevant.

-By betting 450 you let a flush or straight draw profitably call you unless you're willing to fold to scare cards on the turn. Against a larger bet a big draw would likely get it all in on the flop or otherwise fold, both of which are preferable to betting 450 and being called by an 8 out hand.

-AK//AA much more likely to fold to overbet? I have no idea. This may be decisive, since these are such a large segment of his range given the cards visible so getting value from them is important.

I think I like betting 900 here, or at least the full pot. Is there a reason 450 is better?

you bet it and take your lumps if you are beat. if you are you only have about 500 bucks the worst of it and if you are wrong and he has two pair or something and calls you will be glad you did

gonna disagree with Ray here. I think you check call. I think you have to pay off if you are beaten here. However, by shifting to check call mode, you are more likely to induce a bluff. If you bet it, he folds two pair type hands.

Yeah, I like a check also. It is a scary board and he might try and take it away from you. On top of that. If you fire again, two pair gets away most of the time.

once you commit to getting broke on this hand, i like the c/c.

The bet seems easier, as you bet and you're done, but the c/c gets more money imo.

If you check and he checks behind, what is your river plan?
