[ QUOTE ]
You might want to work some leg work in there. It's not going to get you biceps, but it'll make you a hell of a lot stronger than just working on your upper body. [/ QUOTE ] And you'll look a hell of a lot better. I truly find nothing more hilarious than seeing these big gorillas in the gym whose upper bodies closely resemble that of He-Man, but whom I dwarf in terms of leg size. They look like they'll crumble if you flick them on the leg. Don't become a chicken-legged freak. Work your legs too. |

you really only need one supplement, and that is protein. a lot of it.

Also, many beginning lifters have bad form and are just focused on how much weight they are lifting. It is a lot better to consentrate on having good form and not so much on the weight. You can blow your arms up by using only 20 lb dumbells if you know what you are doing. Also, you only want to work you arms twice a week as im sure others have mentioned.

Definitely include either squats or deadlifts in there. Even if the only thing you care about is your arms.

I'd be carefull with the Biceps. If you work them really hard, they can grow too fast and leave some nasty stretch marks.

![]() Thanks for all the responses guys - appreciate it. Here is what I have learned, primarily: 1. I have triceps and should learn to love them. 2. Lifting every day = bad. Exercise different bits each day. 3. The theoretical point about muscle growing while at rest. 4. Protein, not supplements. 5. Do some leg work. Am sure there is more, and will reread thread to find out. Will hopefully have the Big Guns by summer, ready for the beach Cheers!! |

Regarding supplements: You can take whey protein or just have a very protein-heavy diet. After a few months, you may (depending on how serious you are) start trying creatine and/or NO2.
