If they say I've got it, I normally just turn over my hand.

force a muck or show, b/c if you turn your hand face up and by some odd chance his hand beats yours then he can turn his hand up and win. once it's mucked it is a dead hand and he can not win. plus if he mucks you don't have to show, you just need a live hand.

normally ill say something like one pair, or A high if I made a calldown, and thell muck. If they have a pair too well generally each show our pair card and not the second.

usually he's expecting you to call your hand here, like say "a pair" or "ace high" or something. this is one of those things that I feel like people always used to do but not so much anymore. saying "show or muck" is fine but might be considered a little rude by some older players. I almost always call my hand in your spot.

live poker is so gay when it comes to things like this...just flip your freaking hand over and move on to the next hand...live poker is slow enough.
I think both players should be required to flip their hand over immediately, and if they take longer than like 5 seconds the hand is dead. This reminds me of a home game I played recently. I made a river bluff, guy called, and I had nut low (playing the board) I flipped it over, and the guy just stared at it for 20 seconds trying to figure what I had...JUST FLIP THE DAMN HAND OVER, WE'LL SEE WHO WINS AND MOVE ON...IT'S SLOW ENOUGH! |

ya, i just proudly table whatever bs hand i have and annouce 'K high' or whatever and move on. i mean, who cares if they know that i was calling all the way with an OESD and then bluffed the river when I missed. it's just like online. it's not a big deal...

If it's a really good, tricky player I'd opt to see his cards. If he's predictable and more passive, and reading him isn't that big of a deal, just show and move on.

You just claim a better hand than what you have (in this situation) and then say you misread the cards if he doesn't muck and you have to show. Especially if you've called down with ace high and you suspect he's on some small pair due to this interplay on the river; "bluffing" him into mucking would be an enormous coup. |
