is this b/c overpairs will fold, whereas as they will bet if checked to? and you might also induce bluffs?

will overpairs never c/behind on the river?

I think it has more to do with shania when you do have something like 99 or TT. Playing a set like this on this type of flop is going to make it much easier to get to a showdown when you do have a hand like 99 as it will prevent alot of bluffs and river value bets from big pairs. It will also allow you to get more free cards when you do have a club draw or straight draw.

Of course if you're playing against a bad opponent just go ahead and c/r the turn I think.
