It's really interesting that all of these impulses tend to be really destructive ones, either to oneself or to others.

Interesting. I have the same issues - like when I'm at the Grand Canyon or something, knowing that I am one stupid decision or slip from death. But it doesn't have to be relegated to one's own self-destruction. Anyone who ever read the book "A Separate Peace" where (spoiler) <font color="white">the narrator reacts on an impulse to push a friend off of a high tree limb, crippling his friend for life</font>. I've had those urges too, although for the most part mine usually involve blurting out something inappropriate, like someone afflicted with Tourette's Syndrome.

What would be interesting is if we could find a common thread connecting things...Right now my mood is somewhat annoyed, bored, frustrated, and unsure. Now that I think about it, I can't think of a time when I have these thoughts and I'm in an incredibly happy mood. Maybe I'm just trying to disrupt whatever's going on in my subconsciousness with some freak event?

I often get the urge to take my laptop and smash it over someone's head during class. I'd never actually do it, though; a new laptop would cost me like $2k.
