Re: .50/1 to 10/20? How Long?
It took me about a year too. I play a lot less hands than everyone on here though. I'm also currently running like [censored].

Re: .50/1 to 10/20? How Long?
You are new dont even worry about 10/20.
I think it took me about 6 months from nanos to 10/20 I'm not sure. I do have an obsessive personality though and I also have the skills needed for poker and no life which helps. If you have a strategy game background you will probably progress quicker than others. Some people take 3 months some take 3 years it just depends. If you work really hard at your game read and study play few tables and really focus you might do it quickly. Just focus on beating 50c/$1 and getting better then moving up to the next limit with your 300BB roll. |

Hi, I was wondering how long does it take for a .50/1 player to move up to a 10/20?Im a month new to poker and i been playing .50/1 and im doing decent in it. How long did it take for you to move up to 10/20 or 5/10 and how long have u been playing poker? [/ QUOTE ] Reading through your 3 posts I can already tell you have outstanding poker instincts. Don't let the size of your bankroll hold you back on moving up in limits. The games at 10/20 are very fishy, and you should consider moving up as soon as possible. As soon as your bankroll is at least $500, move up and become a regular at the 10/20 game. |

What's the rush? It might be a month, a year, or never. When you are ready, you will get there. Focus on learning the game and playing well, not what limit you are playing at.

Re: .50/1 to 10/20? How Long?
Just be patient, study as much as you can, and focus on playing as many hands as you can, and play them as well as you can. I started in October at .25/50, and by early feb I was up to 5/10, but I was moving up limits when I had 100bb. Now I'm back down to .50/1 with a 350 bankroll. I discovered that I actually didn't know nearly as much as I thought I did, found the 2+2 forums, and have been devouring as many posts as I can. Studying the game is key, and once you study enough, you'll find that you just need to learn as much as you can, don't think about moving up limits. Just think about playing as well as you can at whatever limit your bankroll can support. The money will come, and you can move up as soon as your bankroll will allow.

Re: .50/1 to 10/20? How Long?
what's so special about 10-20? When you start playing 10 all you want to do is play 15 and 20.
