It even seems almost reasonable...

I wouldn't say reasonable. Poker is a game with simple rules. Games are fun because they're pure competition within a well-defined framework (rules). Being punished for playing the game too well (arbitrary meta-rule) is unfair and unreasonable.

I agree --

I do think however that an enormous amount of data is available to a large online casino on which to do statistical analysis. I beleive that just as an insurance agency can calculate what to charge you based on when the actuaries assume you'll die -- casinos can be relative certain that someone is TOO good compared to others.

It is at least a red flag to them and I'll guarantee they are looking for these...

Not sure what you're saying here. If you're saying sites can find out who is too good because they are cheating then that's a good thing. OP is saying sites want to and do get rid of good players who are playing by the rules, which is unfair and unreasonable.

Why would they get rid of a winning player when they can just hit the doom switch?

The thing is that I am a former employee at one of the top 3 biggest poker site.

Can you give some evidence that you are not inventing all this?

Well the third biggest site is FTP and they usually don't do anything about bots. Plus FTP has gotten a lot of grief on this forum about their permissive approach to bots. What better way to calm the uproar then to have someone tell us that bots are not really a problem and sites know about them and choose to do nothing about the harmless ones?

No one care about poker robots as such.

Based on this alone, he cannot be talking about Stars. The head of the bot detection team is one of the smartest and most driven men I have ever met at catching bots on Stars, to the point of being a zealot.

I for one would be very happy if they don't do anything about losing bots.
