The real moral of the story is this:
You need to spend 20% less time playing online poker and dedicate that time the gym. If you are a tall healthy 18 year old "kid"... you would be huge within 18 months. Then... You could tell some guy that looks like Butter-bean to shut the f---k up or you will take him downtown like a cheap hooker. |

pist is not a word [/ QUOTE ] sure it is... it's just a misspelled word. =] I think raising here with QQ is correct. Even on the bubble I would make this play. I think HE made a mistake by smooth calling in EP. This isn't a situation where some donk is bluffing the dry side pot. Bottom line the guy is an idiot. |

I'm annoyed that you assumed someone was drunk just because he had a beer.

[/ QUOTE ] No matter how big you get or how skilled you become, there's always someone bigger or better. Or perhaps just better armed. I think it was on here I read the story about a young buff guy making trouble at a poker table and calling out what he thought looked like an easy 60ish yo victim. He learned too late the 60yo guy was a retired Seal hand-to-hand combat instructor. |

I lean towards that you should not have raised. The goal of a tournament is to eliminate players. There are some benefits of keeping certain players alive for table dynamics but you didn't mention that. Another approach is to accumulate chips early but how much emphasis should be place in that versus eliminating a player is debatable. Player elimination becomes more important as there are less people in the tourney but I still value player elimination. I have to agree with your nemesis that got pissed at you for raising.

To the OP, there's no reason to get "pist" at people like that cuz if they act like that they suck at poker. Its like yelling at a retarded kid for doing something retarded. No need to fight fire with fire, I have a good laugh on the inside whenever that stuff happens. |

I say something like “I’ve made more playing online then blah blah” ....I then say “hey by the way where is that elementary school” [/ QUOTE ] Other than those comments, you handled it well, from raise to goodluck. |

[/ QUOTE ] This isn't the right place for tourney strategy discussion, but you are OH so very wrong. The goal when playing the tournament is to get yourself as deep into the money as you can. When there are 60 players left, I will NOT start soft-playing to try to eliminate one extra player--the one player out of 50 to go that you pop out is worth to you nowhere close to what those chips are. Save the softplay for when you are near or in the money. |

Yes, you definitely sound 18.
God I'd have loved to be on that table listening to you bunch of idiots having your pissing contest. Which you helped escalate by reacting to it the way you did. Next time, don't say anything to "get back" at anyone. Ignore it and play your game. Who gives a sh*t what they think. b |
