Pokerbobo says.... figure out what you hate, you mention your job, friends, family... if that is truly it. Move and start over. You are only 30. Many people realize they feel this way at 50 (after decades of misery), so consider yourself lucky.

If those happen to be just excuses, as you mentioned "it may not be them, but you" Figure out what sucks about you.

Possibilities: degenerate Gambler, not enuff $$$$, bored lazy and apathetic, depressed, lonely, whatever.

Be honest though... the easiest person to lie to is yourself.

Identify the real problem and fix it. Ask yourself every morning "what am I going to do today to make my life better"

it's a strange feeling, cause you feel so guilty feeling so [censored], which just adds to your own misery. especially when you liken it to being selfish.

i don't enjoy anything anymore, and can't remember the last time i was happy.

I'm reading this book about 18th century peasants in Europe. The greatest aspiration was to eat wheaten bread, that is, bread made with wheat and not adulterated with barley or rye or buckwheat. Peasants in France would eat thin soup together with bread. Because they had no cooking implements except for a pot, the bread was baked every two weeks. It was so hard that it was inedible without soup.
