I am in Bellmore... so i am a little further south and west than you. The orient is a little far to get to. How long is the ferry trip on the orient?

I was looking at the Port Jeff ferries and those ferries are over an hour each way and like $40 bucks.

The ferries that take cars do cost $40+ and take over an hour. The SeaJet is a smaller, faster ferry that only takes people (no cars), and is perfect for going to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. It costs less and you get casino bonuses back, so it's basically free. (I won money on the Keno both times I went.)

The ferry is about 50 minutes, 10 minutes to get on the shuttle bus, and ~30 minutes to the casino. So, 1.5 hrs from Orient to Foxwoods.

If you are driving, you drive about the same amount going from Bridgeport to New London as you would from Port Jefferson to Orient. If you are going to Orient, do not drive through Riverhead using exits 71-73. Take Edwards Ave/Rd, I think exit 70, go north 4 miles to Sound Ave, and take that all the way to Orient. It moves pretty quickly, and when it doesn't, it has passing lanes.

One more tip - do not park on the street in Orient, or you are likely to get a parking ticket. Park in the ferry's lot, or the small grass area next to the entrance. If that's all full, I'd go back a few blocks and try to find an off-street place somewhere...

Hmmmm... 75 miles to Orient point from Nassau County. Thats not too bad I guess. SO you drive to Orient Point... then you pay $29.50 (is that round trip?). Then 1.5 hours to get from the boat to Foxwoods?

Yeah I definitely agree to avoid Riverhead. I know the traffic hell that city has very well.
