OK my last comments on the topic:
PapaWarbucks: posts small blind $100 aldavid31: posts big blind $200 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to PapaWarbucks [Jd Qs] bshizzle: folds Quackers: folds St1ckman: raises $200 to $400 PapaWarbucks: raises $200 to $600 aldavid31: folds St1ckman: calls $200 *** FLOP *** [3s 3c 5d] PapaWarbucks: bets $200 St1ckman: calls $200 *** TURN *** [3s 3c 5d] PapaWarbucks: bets $400 St1ckman: calls $400 *** RIVER *** [3s 3c 5d Td] [9c] PapaWarbucks: bets $400 St1ckman: folds PapaWarbucks collected $2595 from pot PapaWarbucks: doesn't show hand Against observant opponents, me betting my A7 on the river vs actnjunkie makes it easier to win a hand such as this one above, against st1ckman. Tough opponents, such as st1ckman, will often call turn bets on boards such as this one because it looks like one where I have to c-bet any two on the turn since his flop call looks like a peel. So, I can only get a K-hi to fold on this river if my river betting range isn't so polarized towards meaning "pair + or queen high -". It's the type of situation that is important to establish a diverse range of hands to prevent your play being from being predictable. None of this matters though unless you play the same people often and they remember things. |

I could be wrong though. I didn't mean to present my reasoning in a holier-than-thou attitude. I'm open to the possibility I'm incorrect.

Schneids sometimes I think your focus on metagame issues is overblown (hope that doesn't sound too snarky [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]) but in this thread I think you are doing great and those two hands summarize the concept really well.

Re: Observer Q about Papawarbucks hand 200/400
According to schneids:
"Her preflop/flop/turn actions allow me to pretty easily narrow her hand range to almost exactly K high or ace high or pair of fours, and her K high will check the river" If this is true then c/f is best line by far obv (again, ignoring metagame). |
