[/ QUOTE ] I was pretty sure SAGE applied in normal SNG's. First, it's called the [S]it [A]nd [G]o [E]ndgame system. It's designed to aid tournament players when they get down to HU. Second, the 'itm'-ness doesn't matter, right? It's just a [near-]optimal jam/fold strategy with low stack/BB ratios. The only case where SAGE is irrelevant in a HU tourney with large blinds is when the payouts for both spots are equal, so nobody cares who wins (or perhaps in a bizarre world where the loser gets paid more, in which case SAGE is a bad idea). In other words, in a 9man SNG that's down to the final 2 players with Stack/BB ratios<8BB, SAGE applies, and ICM is irrelevant. ICM with 2 players left is equivalent to SAGE in a husng though, correct? That's what I meant with my reply and I recall a thread debating that a few weeks or months ago in this forum.

I wanted to retract one of my statements but I couldn't edit in time . SAGE applies in any tournament with the last two players battling it out for first place .
In any case , $ev=Cev when there are two players remaining in any tournament .

lol turning NLHE into Razz with straights.
Tilt would be hilarious - you'd get pissed off when your opponent called your 23o shove with AA and lost when you made your wheel. You'd cry out to yourself "how can these donkeys call a shove with AA and I make my hand anyway?!?!?"

Imagine folding a royal flush to a shove, or Aces pre-flop. You actually double fist-pump when your opponent sucks out. I am on tilt just thinking about it. The Razz'em idea pretty good too.
