Re: Nike\'s \"Leave Nothing\" Commercial
On entourage they had M. Night making an American Express commercial or something like that when Ari went to meet him so I think it's pretty common.
This is definitely a good commercial though. Had no idea someone so famous directed it. |

Re: Nike\'s \"Leave Nothing\" Commercial
One of the best commercials in a long time. Probably better than it really was due to the music which is pure ecstasy.

Fair enough, I guess Im a little naive here. I just figured once you got films nominated for Oscars, commercials would be a distant memory. Good responses, thank you. [/ QUOTE ] Perceptions and stigmas constantly change in these industries. It used to be that actors would never stoop so low as to go on TV. Now you have movie stars like James Woods, Glen Close, etc. doing shoes on network TV and basic cable. The same with whoring out music for use in advertisements. This used to be frowned upon, now it's completely commonplace. |

Re: Nike\'s \"Leave Nothing\" Commercial
Interesting trivia: Probably the greatest/most prolific commercial director in history, Joe Pytka, has only directed a handful of films. His first feature was the magnificent Let it Ride, starring Richard Dreyfuss. The only other project of note he ever "directed" was Space Jam, a job he got because Michael Jordan insisted he be hired because they had a relationship from all the commercials they did together. However, Pytka is insane and was essentially kicked off the film after clashing with Ivan Reitman, who finished editing it himself.

Re: Nike\'s \"Leave Nothing\" Commercial
It's a great commercial. The only thing that gets me is the very end when the text comes up. Good message and everything but they need to change it IMO to fit the quality level of the rest of the commercial. It's something with the timing I think that gets me. FWIW, I'm an Advertising Major.

Re: Nike\'s \"Leave Nothing\" Commercial
Nike's had some pretty amazing commercials over the years. I'd rank this one a little below the "Instant Karma" running shoe commercials circa 1992.
EDIT: Apparently those were directed by David Fincher. I'll be damned. |

Re: Nike\'s \"Leave Nothing\" Commercial
I love the commercial. It completely glorifies the barbaracy of the NFL. Merriman, a steroid freak and overall [censored], absolutely levels people. No wonder people don't care many ex-players have concussion induced dementia or can barely walk on their own. This commercial is disgusting.

It doesn't really do it for me. Looks too fake.
