Re: Books with online poker content to be banned?
The best thing about the US government is an independant judiciary.
That's why porn is still rampant on the Internet... CDA, COPA laws all struck down by courts. No way could this ever happen. |

our government basically sucks and they do whatever the hell they want, modern day witchhunts, if they can ban every reasonable sports supplement, and the anarachy cookbook, i am assuming they can do this as well. i am starting to be ashamed of being a us citizen. [/ QUOTE ] What reasonable sports supplements have been banned by the US Gov? GNC is still in business I think. The Anarchist Cookbook is not banned in the US. It's banned in a lot of countries outside the US, but still legal in the US. Please also name a book that is banned in the US, that stayed banned. |

no. read the constitution. [/ QUOTE ] The constitution didn't stop the passage of the UIGEA itself where the exact same thing is done to web sites. The UIGEA says that the Government can order a web site provider to remove any web pages that contain links to illegal gaming sites. The owner of the web site is not even entitled to a hearing or any other due process. |

Not the Same
this is not the "exact same thing". this is very different, and clearly constitutional. writing or saying what you want is different then running a web site for profit.
yes the web site owner can have due process, he can file a lawsuit. but to compare a right covered in the constitution with the part of the uigea that you refer to is not understanding the constitution. Amendment I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. |

Amendment I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. |

Re: Books with online poker content to be banned?
Early April Fools Day jokes? WTF? When did this start? I never thought there were enough solid gags to do this every year when it was still just one day of tomfoolery. This should have been voted on. I am firmly opposed, and that better be F'n sugar on my damn cereal or someone will be beaten!
