By the way psycho, this topic thread puts the burden of proof on you by the way. Doesn't matter to me though. [/ QUOTE ] proof is not a burden for me. it's a bonus. but sorry, i don't have any proof, that god would exist or not. i was just underlining the absurdity of saying "i didn't come accross any evidence that disprove my belief, then i believe". but u answered me saying u had ur own proofs. so everything is good. sorry for the english. |

And what proofs would that be? I'm looking for examples. Give me an example of a proof that would change your mind and make you think that god does not exist. For example, I used the example of god raising my grandmother from the dead as a proof that would change my mind, and make me believe god DOES exist. I'm looking for a similar proof, but in the opposite direction. |

Something in vein of a historical/scriptural contradiction in the bible. I find that most of the people i've known that turned away from God/belief did so because of circumstances (aka mother died, got a disease, etc) or personal agendas (i want to "insert anything here")

[ QUOTE ] Give me 72 virgins and I'll believe anything you tell me. [/ QUOTE ] Sorry, no virgins. But how about eternal life and neverending happiness?? [/ QUOTE ] Way too abstract. Most people have to be enticed with bread and circuses, or something they can relate too. That's why I would always doubt the authenticity of a "feel good" religion. If there ain't suffering, it's probably man made. |

oh definitly, suffering is a intergal part in human existence and religions attempt to explain it. I myself like christianity's explanation of suffering (more so then say buddisms, taoism, etc.) and think reasons that feel good religions are either naive or ignore these aspects of the human condition.

In the spirit of the other thread. What if a god-like being gave you knowledge that jesus was resurrected and told you that god didn't exist.
