[I like it, your hand is very vulnerable on the flop wait for a safe card. [/ QUOTE ] This is one reason to actually wait for a safe card. b |

Both limpers called my raise.
River T. Check, check, I bet, call, older guy angrily folds 87 faceup. I table my hand and the older guy starts raving about how I "needed perfect perfect." The first limper had Ad 9d. --Nate |

[ QUOTE ] If MP 3-bets the turn, are we folding the river UI (assuming it's HU)? [/ QUOTE ] Joker -- I'd be tempted to. I'd default to yes. [/ QUOTE ] I think you have to call hoping for a chop. |

[/ QUOTE ] I think you have to call hoping for a chop. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I'm not autofolding, but I'm definitely looking for physical cues and so forth to swing the decision. One interesting thing about tight unknowns is that they're tight, so they're more likely to have strong holdings, but they're tight, so you don't have as much information on how they play the big streets. In semi-related news, today I got to bet/3bet/fold a river. That was fun. Thanks for the input -- --Nate |

[ QUOTE ] In semi-related news, today I got to bet/3bet/fold a river. That was fun. [/ QUOTE ] HH please. (I predict that I will have preferred a checkraise and call a 3-bet). [/ QUOTE ] Well, I've always said that one should not be afraid to share misplayed hands publicly. 8-handed live 40-80. I limp UTG with 33. Folded to the button (oops!) who raises. The button thinks he plays well, and almost certainly beats the game, but doesn't quite get it. He misses plays that should be automatic, doesn't bluff or "follow through" enough (if ever), and doesn't react well to pot odds. He raises pretty frequently preflop from all positions. The big blind calls. He's a winning regular who seems to pride himself on his tightness. Flop Js Jc 5s. Check-check-check. (I don't think the button autobets here; does that mean I should be betting?) Turn Kc. Check-check-bet-fold. I'm ready to fold when I decide that: -The button would bet most of his holdings here, even the unpaired ones. -The button will almost never bet the river with a hand I can beat. Therefore I'm in fake-calldown mode, ready to fold the river. River 3s. I bet. Enough of his range is hands that will check behind but call. He raises. My instinct was to just call here but I ended up 3-betting because it seemed so easy for him to look at my line and rule out almost all the big hands. I think this is a bad play, because the flush hit and I don't think this guy can raise without something that can beat a flush in this spot. He 4-bet and I topped off my avalanche of mistakes with one correct decision. I folded and he showed quad jacks. --Nate |

I think I'll fold the river UI. You're most likely beated by a set at that point or a straight. It's very unlikely someone having AT with you since he limped.
