ds lite is pretty awesome. someone set up a thread to swap 2+2 Friend ID's for some games.

battery life is pretty good, but charge mine every night and never really play more than a few hours a day unless im on a car trip. but even then ive never had a problem.

There was recently a Slashdot thread about homebrew games for DS. Basically lets you play tons of emulators (SNES, NES, etc), all the old lucas arts games (monkey island, Sam & Max), and I think some older computer games. Worth a look if you are willing to pick up a few extra accessories for your DS.

I think if you have a wireless router you can connect automatically, otherwise you can buy an adapter for your computer. Also, it doesnt cost anything like xbox live.
