Re: Question about a live hand..
12k = 8BB (going to 4BB in 2 min)
Scenario 1: You limp for 1500, CO raises, you push... Scenario 2: (what happened) You raise to 6000, CO pushes all in, you call... Scenario 3: you push all-in for 12000, CO...? Since you are about to become pretty desperately short stacked, it looks like all 3 of those scenarios end up with all your chips in the middle in a race w/ AT. I am not sure I could limp/fold pre-flop here ever, unless I wanted to sit tight and wait for the shorties to bust out, in order to move up the pay-scale. |

Re: Question about a live hand..
The blinds were a lot more than "getting steep". They were already at endgame stage where every hand played had to be push/fold based on your description of chip stacks. Picking up the blinds would have put you in a much better position vs the short stacks, especially as the blinds were going up next hand and you would be UTG+1.

Re: Question about a live hand..
I found a sample hand in Harrington on Hold Em that was very similar to this. Q's vs. A/10. The guy with Q's put about 1/2 his stack in and Harrington said the A/10 guy should have folded because in this situation the 1/2 stack raise was more powerful than just shoving.
Either way was not wrong is what it came down to. Thanks for the replies again. It is appreciated. |
