I dislike the variation as played, and I dislike the preflop fold variation alluded to by OP (woohoo...I said "OP" again).

With your stack, 77 becomes a boring hand, and I play boring hands like this in boring ways. I strongly and wholeheartedly agree with mr. deeb's recommendation in this spot, and encourage the OP (ship it again ty) to uncomplicate his game in siutations where uncomplicated play is called for.

I agree that folding pre is weak, but I think it is better than calling and taking this line postflop.

I think folding preflop is best

Yes, its weak, but that doesn't mean its not right

We don't have set odds. We're not going to be picking up any value by calling and trying to outplay an EP raiser OOP postflop.

Also, 3betting and calling a shove seems reallly spewy with 30bb's vs an EP raiser's range.

Raise to 1500 and shove most flops seems fine.

Fold preflop seems fine.

Calling preflop seems gross.

I read the OP and i'm like "hmm, i think i just fold pre."

Then i scroll down and see everyone like "fold preflop WTF????" and i'm thinking "ah [censored], better not say anything or i'll just be bashed for being a nit"

Then i check the thread again today and some heavyweights who are saying fold pre posted, so now that the peer pressure is off i feel safe to throw my hat in the ring and say "nit it up, fold pre."

this looks infinitely more ridiculous -- w/ no offense to bond because he knows i love him

i dont really care who says what, this isn't a fold pf. calling isnt the best option, but it's still better than folding
