Re: AQ - a different line
[ QUOTE ]
Try having better reasons for doing things than "cuz I felt like it". [/ QUOTE ] FFS. Two replies and still you've contributed nothing. I saw a Gus Hansen tutorial DVD on YouTube broken up into about 9 seperate files. I clicked on part 1, skipped through it. At one point I heard him advicing donk betting sometimes ... so I did it one time. Third time lucky? |

Re: AQ - a different line
[ QUOTE ]
You can pretty much play this hand differently on every street. Preflop is a RR a decent % of the time against a loose opener. Since villain is unknown, just calling is fine. Donking the flop is alright. Donking is generally a non-standard line, so you should be using it to throw off villain. You should be playing for stacks in this spot, especially since villain doesn't have a full stack. Standard move would be to CR flop and shove turn. Turn, don't really like a check here, but once you do check, and he bets, just put it all in. River, please don't fold. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks. |

Re: AQ - a different line
Well, your first mistake is looking to Gus Hansen for advice. Hahahah! And my comments are definately helpful. Try to think of WHY you are doing things instead of just randomly betting because you seen someone do it once.

Re: AQ - a different line
You've represented a busted flush, why are you folding this river?

Re: AQ - a different line
i would have really liked this line if you c/r the turn or just go bet/bet/bet
typically on flops like this if you lead and villain has you beat he's going to raise you. |

Re: AQ - a different line
i think the flop donk is alright occasionally with the unknown opponent i d prefer c/c though. call river i think you might have got what you wanted to induce with the flop donk... a bluff.

Re: AQ - a different line
id 3bet preflop.
giving that you didnt, i like the flop lead, as long as you lead turn and river too. as played, id snap call the river. villain can easily value bet worse, or of course, bluff. |
