how on earth could he have 9T [/ QUOTE ] Why could he not have 9T? i think it's fairly standard to call a cbet with T9 on this board. |

I'd go with straight or set, maybe Q9s. I'm not sure about 9T but only 9sTs would be in play so I don't think it matters much.

Whatever his range is - you are ahead of it imo. Shove.

bruiser,
by "lots of hands make sense", i meant that there are a lot of hands i would not be surprised to see here. thats just the way things are when playing unknowns at 2/4. i guess your point is that your hand is more pretty than it is good in this spot, but once again, you're playing an unknown at 2/4. he will show up with worse often enough to shove. this hand would be more interesting vs a solid thinking regular who wont frequently overplay hands or show up with bad, random lines a lot of the time. edit: listing hands: AQ, AA, T9, 23cc... u get my point. |

you guys do know it's okay to fold the best hand every once in a while right? luego you have a valid point for sure, but i think its much better to analyze the hand like this
step 1: what reasonable hands could he have? (a set, or straight, QT) step 2: how bad is he (=a unknown 2/4) and consequently how often can he have some wacky hand here and how does that match up to the strength of my hand. it's close but i'd say it's a fold. there's also the fact that when he's behind he has a lot of outs and when i'm behind i am in troubles. |

lol @ T9 doesn't make sense, of course it does, i'd say it's one of if not the most likely hand.
68 suited, T9, combo turned draw like everyone said, random KJ. it's either something that improved his hand, or a card that is connected and scary enough that he wants to put in a bunch of money now. call or raise, but don't fold. |

Who knows what he has, you are certainly ahead.

before i read any replies i was thinking "easy call turn call/shove any river".
why is shoving better? edit: i guess his T9 could find a fold on a ridiculously scary river or something, but i think calling gets more from draws or some ridiculous bluff. |

go all in because he has a combo draw or T9 more often than a set. if he has J8/KJ, just reload.
