Re: NLTRN - This is a major leak right?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [x] Villain played well [ ] Hero played well [/ QUOTE ] I wouldn't know his hand unless I played well. [/ QUOTE ] If you had anything but QQ+ this is false. [/ QUOTE ] A real hand would probably check/raise all in here. You definitely don't need QQ+ to make this call. I don't really see how it is feasible to have hit this flop unless: a) he called rags planning to shove any 2 (in which case chances are he didn't hit) b) he smooth called a PP (seems unlikely) [/ QUOTE ] Sorry your preflop play is bad unless you have QQ+ [/ QUOTE ] You're saying that once the blinds get this high, smaller raises are bad. Most everything here is shove or fold, right? |

Re: NLTRN - This is a major leak right?
Blinds are too big to do this preflop. I'm using semi-SAGE at this point until 8bb or less then pure SAGE.

Re: NLTRN - This is a major leak right?
Typically , I would have folded j-4 .
Also , the SAGE system is a great tool to use if you're multi-tabling and you don't have a good read on your opponent's tendencies . If you're single-tabling , you can often times do much better than SAGE towards the end of an sng . |

I never go strictly by SAGE especially in HU SNGs where reads are so paramount. I always adjust what I think my opponent's push/call range is to the SAGE system. |

Calling with j-4 and then shoving on the flop is a worse move than shoving all in preflop with j-4 . It's very easy to show this . [/ QUOTE ] This is not true at all, I really dont feel like getting into however. |

Re: NLTRN - This is a major leak right?
You're actually saying that calling with j-4 and then shoving on the flop is a good move ?
I'm more than willing to challenge you on this . |

[ QUOTE ] Calling with j-4 and then shoving on the flop is a worse move than shoving all in preflop with j-4 . It's very easy to show this . [/ QUOTE ] This is not true at all, I really dont feel like getting into however. [/ QUOTE ] That's a strong statement and you've provided no proof that you are in fact right . Since , my area of expertise is in mathematics , I will provide 2 EV statements and I'll let others come to their own conclusions . My assertion proceeds as follows : If you shove with j-4 , you have fold equity . You move in with 1250 trying to pick up 150+75+75+225=525 in chips . Let x be the probability that you're successful with this play . Your EV can be modeled as: EV1 = 525*x + (1-x)*[1400*2-1250] . A very reasonable estimate for x is about 2/3 but this is player dependent . On the other hand , if you call pre and then shove 100% of the time , your EV if we let y=flop fold equity, and a = the probability you win when you get called is : EV2= 750*y + (1-y)*(1025)*a -(1-y)*(1025)*(1-a) There is so simple way to convince me that EV2>EV1 . This is what you're trying to say after all without using mathematics as your justification . |

[ QUOTE ]
you have fold equity . [/ QUOTE ] This is as far as I got, if villain has fold equity preflop OP is very bad. |
