Why no flop raise? Does everyone here just call this flop? 2+2 seems to have a wait-for-the-turn disease and it's spreading like the HIV. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong and I need to catch it too.

[/ QUOTE ]
I agree, well expect for the part of catching it too. There are some good spots I'm finding in HU pots, but for the most part flop raising still seems the way for me to both maximize value while also more accurately controlling how much action goes in.

Nobody yet commented that a seemingly good TAG donked the flop here on the most dry board ever? Seems he either forgot the previous action or is doing something really weird. Normally I would 3 bet this against anyone but given he played this super weird I might actually just call down.

ps: just because everyone is waiting until the turn right now doesn't mean this isn't a great place to wait until the turn. The guy could have air here easily.

A lot of the time I do raise the flop, this time i just decided to wait because I felt he was pretty weak and would fire most turns and likely call down with A high.

Also, Im not considering folding the turn. Im considering 3 betting.

When I raise the flop the turn always bricks off.
When I call the flop, the turn is an Ace.
Whatever

then you suck at poker and hand reading.

this guy just took the "gimme all your money" line.

Also, if he has Ax, he's not going to check the river, so you still get 3BB when ahead.

I think 3betting this against a good 26/17 player is really, really bad.

TheHip clearly thinks the turn decision is between fold and call, while Nina thinks it is between call and 3 bet. I side with Nina and think that if TheHip finds this a decision that's closer to a fold than a 3 bet with an overpair on a paired board in a blind battle against a guy described as potentially "spewy", then he is probably erring on the folding side in lots of other spots that I would think are mistakes. Hence, I think he probably gets bluffed a lot.

When TAGs do this against me in my games they are either playing their AK or 77 like an expert. People just dont take weird lines with monsters IMO.

Dont ever fold this. Not because of the sexy. But because of the flop donk and turn sexy. I smell something fishy.

I like raising the flop here.

But as you played it, no way I fold. Call down.
