I check the turn and probably bet the river even though I think it's close and don't really mind a check. The worst hand villain will show up with here is a slowplayed KK. I'm more afraid of TT/55 than a straight.

why does everyone like a turn check? I mean honestly, villain has a weak hand here way more often than a monster.

they like turn check because not a lot of people check call the flop with ace high and while getting a hand like 88 or 99 to fold to a turn bet is good, its not bad to take a free one for your 8-10 outs especially in cases where villain slowplayed a monster.

ok, so I'm still not sure whether I like the turn check or not.

my thoughts during the hand were basically something like this.

flop - standard cbet, dry flop, he calls... hmm

turn - ok, he probably doesnt have much, just takin one of w/ 88/99 or Tx. i've got an oesd, he'll prob lay those hands down to a 3barrel. I'm gonna bet. ohh [censored] he c/r'd... don't think he'd call the flop looking for a gutshot. this has gotta be a set, sweet, easy call cause I'll stack him on the river if I hit b/c no way does he think I have 44 here.

river - that's a weird check. he's obv. scared of the straight. hmm... can I get him to lay down a set? maybe if I shove river but I'm really only repping 1 hand here - AA. otoh, I did just pull ahead of 22. errhh ehhh I check.

really wished I'd bombed the river lookin back on it.
