I completely agree. If you have GH 1/2 then don't bother playing the GH songs on FoF. There are some good quality fan releases on FoF although it takes some time to find them amongst the crap. Creating them takes a while to get used to and it's not easy to sync up all the notes, so some people half-ass their attempts because of that, hence the [censored] releases.

The best creations tend to be done by people who have some musical skill already. For instance, I can play guitar adequately. That's how I was so quick to pickup Guitar Hero (and FoF) and it also helped me with creating songs. I also can quickly recognize when a song was poorly fretted and know how to fix it.
