Re: 15/30 -I dunno how to play the nuts.
Slightly tangential, but I also think others are more likely to take over-aggresive shots at you to try to get you to fold when you are running real good. Kind of what I was thinking when faced with the turn decision in my post from yesterday (hand #3).

"For the sake of argument plz assume he never ever has a straight flush here. "
Hahahaha...after how many bets are we allowed to assume it's possible? |

Re: 15/30 -I dunno how to play the nuts.
If we're not assuming he has nuts because he simply can't, what's the question?
Stop raising when your arm falls off or he runs out of chips. Don't let him stop to think about what's going on. Spew as much as possible. |

Re: 15/30 -I dunno how to play the nuts.
Ok I must have full blown FPS, because I just called, and the board paired on the end and it went check check (I was planning to CR) Afterwards I looked and it turned out the guy only had 5bb left, so even if my play might work some % of the time, the light at the end of the tunnel was quite dim for me.
Needless to say, this is never ever happening again. I'm used to playing either online where the betting is capped or in situations where people simply will not go multiple bets without the pure stones, so I wasn't quite sure what to do. I was talking with strictlystrategy the other day, and he was ranting about how if you have the nuts you always keep raising on 4th. I think there are in fact exceptions to that, but this wasn't one of them, and I was just being an experimental FPSey douchebarrel on this hand. |
