Re: 11r - Quad aces post-flop
Since you have position, and with this many people in the pot, I'd be tempted to throw a couple of chips out there on the flop. Somebody will put you on an ace, but somebody will put you on a bluff and call, maybe more than one since you're giving them great odds. If you wait for the turn to bet, and nobody makes a hand or a draw, then you'll get no customers.

Re: 11r - Quad aces post-flop
[ QUOTE ]
No one has an Ace. You're going to have a hard time getting paid. Maybe a club comes on the turn and you get some action. It just seems like there's a good chance no one has a decent 2nd best hand yet. And, of course protection isn't an issue at all. [/ QUOTE ] Other than a flush or a fluky boat, I don't see it as very likely that 2nd best hands that can pay you much are going to come along anyway. And the flush draw will likely pay you if you bet right now. Getting paid off with quad aces is just going to be very difficult. I think it's a lot like how people are fond of pointing out that if you folded every royal flush you ever made it would have a negligible impact on your ROI; quad aces are just 3.25 times more common (in some sense, though probably quite a bit more common in practice given the types of hands people play.) |
