[ QUOTE ] tl;dr. Voted him on principle. -bb. [/ QUOTE ] That's funny. Maybe OOT isn't the best source for answers to questions like this. [/ QUOTE ] I can't imagine why you'd say that. -bb. |

Man I miss the 8th grade, especially the girls I was too big of a pussy to hit on. Now that I've got game they all think I'm creepy. [/ QUOTE ] That can be easily overcome by reminding them of your ability to by beer. Or, better yet, Zima. -bb. |

What about all his superfluous stuff? He has a million extra prepositions. [/ QUOTE ] A million extra prepositions are still way better than if he wore short shorts to study hall and his junk was spilling out of them and it was all you could think about for days on end and it kept you up at night. Seriously. |

Re: Group project member thinks he writes better than I do, you decide
1st one is nitty.
For the 2nd one, I am pretty sure you changed the meaning of the sentence, so yours sucks (unless he had the meaning wrong). 3rd: both of your sentences suck. 4th: write an actual sentence if you want us to compare the two 5th: yours is much better 6th: yours is much better 7th: both suck. granted i don't know what is going on in preceding sentences, how about: "Vega’s justification was flawed because the staff's two responsibilities conflicted. They could not be traveling and processing claims at the same time." |

You both suck. Don't split infinitives.
[ QUOTE ] In order to effectively cater to their customers needs, Francis Vega and his staff worked around the clock and overcame immense adversity. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Group project member thinks he writes better than I do, you decide
bb,
Good call. 13-14 year old broads tend to like fruity or malted type of drinks like Zima or wine coolers. From what I've heard anyway. And if the star football player or whatever gives me some lip for stealing his hand warmer I'll just run over him while he's biking home and he can spend the rest of his life eating out of a tube while he thinks about what a dumb idea that was. |

Re: Group project member thinks he writes better than I do, you decide
1: To serve their customers' needs in a time of great hardship, Francis Vega and his staff worked around the clock. [note: a number is better than the cliche here. "worked, on average, 16 hours per day for 3 weeks"]
2. To provide exemplary service to its customers, ALIC had to first ensure that its employees' basic needs were met. 3. A manager authorized the use of a washer/drier unit originally intended for a customer claim, helping staff morale. 4. The employees were grateful for the chance to wash their clothes at a time when few had running water or electricity in their homes. 5. Transportation provided by ALIC allowed Vega and his staff to work effectively in the area. Mr. Johnson praised the team as "dedicated and creative" in facing the regional crisis. 6. These ALIC vehicles gave the employees easy access to the sites needing the most attention. 7. Vega's reasoning was flawed, as the staff needed to maintain some presence in the office to process the claims it [verbed] on the road. wordcount: Me/Him/You: 151/194/~180 |
