Yes, there's a great disco dance scene in Airplane, complete with stabbing deaths, fighting girl scouts, slide whistles, and a sexy trombone player.

Why am I only one of two voting for Withnail and I? Are there no more Brits in the lounge?

[/ QUOTE ]

If more people had seen this film in the first place it would have loads more votes.

I don't remember if it was Withnail or I, but one of them recounted how stunned they all were at the film's popularity in Britain let alone the rest of the world. He told a story of walking down the street in Toronto and someone shouted out, "Have you gone on holiday by mistake?" He looked around but never saw who it was who shouted it.

Tough to choose between two from the great Mel Brooks, but somehow I feel I should only go with one for greatest of all time.

Animal House
Caddyshack
Dr. Strangelove
Blazing Saddles
Holy Grail

Honorable Mention: Young Frankensteen.

I am frankly shocked how poorly Life of Brian is doing.

So only 4 of you have seen Rushmore, right?

That's really the only explanation.

I went with Airplane, Blazing Saddles, Major League, 40 Year Old Virgin, and Dumb and Dumber. Airplane is far and away the funniest movie on the list.

Several others were close to making my top five.

By the way, High Fidelity is a comedy? I don't remember it being all that funny, aside from some of the Jack Black scenes.
