Wow thanks for the info. I was under the impression it was pretty far in to East LA. In fact I live right off the 405, just south of where it meets the 105, and the 105 is always empty, so this should be easy drive. Really I have just been 21 for such a short time, and got comfortable quickly w/ a casino pretty near to me, and I'm trying to see if I'm doing well yet and have falsely tried to keep my competition similar to try to determine that. I'm about 1/2 way between the Hustler and Hollywood Park, but even I haven't checked out Hollywood Park yet because of the reasons I just mentioned. It's almost like I have some fear to go to some place then get beat up bad lol. I just need to get out there and start seeing all these places. I'm definately checking the Commerce this weekend.

Directions to Commerce:

105 East.
710 North.
Exit Washington. There is no 710 N offramp to the 5 south.
Take Washington appx 1 mile and go under the 5 Fwy.
Turn left.
Commerce is on the right hand side.

Going home:

Turn left out of Commerce.
Take a right onto Washington.
710 South.
105 West.

What I meant about the Commerce games is there are TONS of tables and the action at low limits on weekends is usually insane. At $2-4 you will find much worse players than at Hustler. The games tend towards lots of action and lots of "any two cards can win".

BTW, I believe the $2-4 LHE at Commerce is upstairs. Ask an employee if you cannot find it. I'd show you around, but I will be in Vegas every weekend this month.

Those are not good directions from where he's coming from. To Commerce, take the 105 east to 605 north to 5 north, and exit Washington. Whole trip (without traffic, and I know, yeah right) would take about 20 minutes.

Taking the 710 just makes it more roundabout...the shorter and quicker distance is 605/5. 710 would go to the Bike.

If you live right by the 105 and 405 I would imagine that Hollywood Park is actually closer that Hustler, unless you are further southeast. If you are anywhere near Century(pretty much where the 405-105 meet) then you are less than 10 minutes away on the streets. From my memory the Hustler is down the 105E to the 110S which may be a 15 minute drive if the 110 isn't hell. Not sure about the streets.

You are incorrect. 605 is about 5 miles east of Commerce . So overall 10 miles longer in terms of distance.

My advice was correct.

Thanks for all the info on this thread.

What cardroom has the softest competition in the limit games from say 9/18 to 30/60 range?

What cardroom has the best availibility of those 9/18 to 30/60 games? Thanks

Exactly. I'm more SE of Century. In fact, Hollywood Park is on Prairie and Century. And Hustler is on Redondo Beach Blvd and Vermont. I live where Prairie crosses Redondo Beach Blvd. (Approx 165th st, so bout 60 blocks from century) I can drive straight north of my house and hit Hollywood Park in about 10 minutes, or drive straight east of my house and hit Hustler in bout 10 min. OK, so I stretched the truth a lil, I live right off the 405, and could reach the 105 within no time from the 405.

Everyone, thanks for the great info! These games sound very live indeed! Certainly I was going to mapquest the place before heading there, but all this info gives me a great idea of where it is actually at anyway. BTW, GL in Vegas this weekend. Maybe I'll see you in Commerce in the future.

You mean, in El Segundo, or maybe Manhattan Beach? I also live around that (this) area, and usually play at Hustler. Technically Hollywood Park is closer. I used to play at Hollywood Park more, but frankly the atmosphere there totally sucks ass, especially compared to Hustler.

Commerce has more game selection, and second would be Bicycle, but traffic can make it a pain in the ass to get there in the evenings. Hustler is only 10-15 minutes away. I used to be a regular in the 300 NL game there, but haven't been playing quite as much lately due to getting married.

First I'd like to apologize for what seems an unintentional hijack. lol OP did not ask, how can we help Grizwold get to Commerce? So I will stop about my location after this post. I live in Lawndale, a small city just right smack dap in the middle of Redondo Beach, Torrance, Gardena and Hawthorne. Very near you. I found myself not anxious to go to Hollywood Park partyly because of what you have mentioned (and those people I spoke to were at the Hustler). But I've actually heard this about most casino's in LA. The only places I haven't heard anything bad about is Commerce and the Bike (and Hustler but you can tell of course by opinions is baised. I think only fault is not enough variety of games and higher limits).

Packard- I think when talking about great availability of limit games 9/18 and higher, really the only options are Commerce, the Bike, and 3rd is none. And I've read on these forums that the competitiion at 9/18 at the Commerce is the softest to be found anywhere at 9/18. Meaning this is probably the easiest place to beat these limits. I wish I had enough money to confirm.
