The difficult part about quitting smoking is not the physical withdrawal. That'll only be 2 to 3 days of discomfort (dizziness, palpitations that sort of thing). The hard part is the fact that you associate everything with smoking and you have to unlearn all those triggers. I would smoke after a beer, after coffee, after sex, waking up, going to bed, coming home, leaving home, after eating, when waiting etc.. Basically everything you do triggers the thought about smoking. It takes about 3 to 6 months before that's gone. Smoking for just 6 months will not be long enough to give you the same amount of problems someone who has smoked for 10 to 20 years will have.
