What if it's the same situation, except you're at the main event.

This is a very poor way of looking at things. If Im playing the ME, Im gonna hopefully play it like any other tournament with the adjustment that a lot of players are very very bad (from what Ive heard). You also have deepstacks in the ME so the situation would be entirely different.

hard to conceive of this happening in the ME...I guess fold QQ and call with KK/AA only...hard to say cause it's a tiny bit more than my normal limit

Isn't the main event first level like, 25/25? with hour long levels? (not sure of the exact number so don't flame)

That would be 400 BB or 200 if it's 25/50.

I think I'm mucking everything in the BB except AA. In the given example it's only 75 BB and 10minute levels. So not quite the same.

Yeah, I know the stacks are much bigger, I meant same situation as in it's early, a bunch of guys limp and button moves all in. I think I'd fold QQ, but it's easier said than done

The stack sizes and tournament structure are a big part of the "situation" not just the betting sequence.

surprised at the replies. I think you're totally losing value here (it's +EV but you're not maximizing your EV, far from it).

I make it about 200.

Just raise to 200 here. Like footnbaseball says you shouldnt be concerned with whether this is +EV (it obv is), but maximising our EV an this certainly isnt doing it.

Not sure of the effectiveness this would have over limps. But I have done this like 5 times over a raise. And suprisingly I have gotten called for about 100BB by AQ, JJ, 66. And folded twice.

I was hoping to reel in a donk with a smaller pp. anything 66-99 that maybe limped. Maybe some other non-sense.

Result: all fold, and no flop. = weak +EV
