ok I guess this isn't really interesting (i.e. fold)

I was villain

-With what hands do you take my line with?
-Do you ever take this line as a bluff?
-Which hands are you just leading river with rather than trying to c/r?

[/ QUOTE ]

Honestly, your line makes no sense. I can't find a single hand beating OP that plays that way. It actually looks like you smelled weakness and check/raise bluffed the river.

[/ QUOTE ]

no, his line does make sense. he has trips and is taking hero to value town.

Why would trips try to check raise the river when hero just checked behind turn? Is there really more value in a river check/raise than a river lead here? It seems like trips should be leading this river.

what is the play if hero (the real one OOP) had an ace? Check call the river.

trips, although technically a "huge hand," is the next latch in relative strength. The play is the same. Besides, most people in Hero's (the fake one IP) value bet an ace, so you win the same (sometimes mroe when they bet call the river) as well as earn the bluff part like you would c/c the ace.

the time to just not be fancy and lead is if you're playing a real ABC nit who plays his hands very straightforwardly, so you think they actually DO have an ace by the turn check alot (or are not going to bluff at it) and they wont value bet (so just pretty passive)

As BobboFitos says a river CR is usually the best line. But your average 2/4 player is more likely to lead. Which is a big factor in why I think this is call not a fold.

I appreciate you're reasoning. So the hero is representing a weak Axs that decided there was no value in donking the turn. I suppose that would make sense, but I think I'm leading this turn with a fair amount of aces for value/protection. I'm not sure if that is particularly standard though.
