Having insurance is not a requirement for prescription drugs. You can go see a doctor and ask him to write you a prescription for it. You just pay for the visit(s) out of your own pocket. The same thing goes for the prescription itself.
It will cost you more than if you had insurance, but probably less than you've saved by not having insurance for a while. |

The insurance is no biggie. Adderall is not that expensive, the problem is that you don't say why you are too skinny, but one of the side effects is appetite suppression, which can't be good for you. Adderall is essentially a timed release amphetamine (speed) in a controlled dosage. While it will certainly help you focus and will likely earn you more $$, it is also a really -EV in the long run.
EDIT: ACK!! I just read your post more thoroughly, you may have a serious weight problem. Bite the bullet, pay the $$ and go see a doctor. At your weight, using Adderall could be potentially life threatening. Additionally, it may be +EV in the long run to reconsider your job choices. Almost any "day job" will come with insurance, and if you have medical problems, you need insurance. One or two hospitalizations could bankrupt almost anyone. Note: I am not an MD, but am a clinical psychologist (Ph.D.) so I'm not talking out my ass here. |

Adderall is NOT -EV for everyone, just for the OP. When ADHD is clearly diagnosed by a psychologist or psychiatrist, Adderall is a safe and effective treatment for MOST people. I'm not real fond of family docs rxing Adderall and other stimulants, mostly because they are generally not sufficiently trained in mental health diagnoses. |

Drive to Mexico, buy what you need, come home. Note some drugs are not available there, you might want to call before traveling.

this post isn't entirely related, but basically shows everything i went through to get a generic ritalin perscription. right now i am taking 40 mg of ritalin a day. i could get on adderall, all i would have to do is ask, but my doctor seems to think there is no difference between the two drugs though some individuals may prefer one to the other. i'll probably try out adderall eventually. it seems like experiences vary, it seems like some guys can just want into the doctors office and say they are having trouble staying attentive and they can walk out with a prescription. I started my journey towards getting on drugs at the end of april, and i still don't have a prescription that allows refills. we are still tweaking with the dosage and i have to come in every two weeks to see my doctor. if you read the post, you will see that i went through a pretty ridiculous testing process as well. |

Go rent requiem for a dream. Based on your maturity in this thread I will give an over-under of 6 months that you end like the old lady. |

Um I don't see the problem. Go read my strattera thread. I'm going back to my shrink in a couple weeks to request an adderall script. Psychiatric visits aren't covered under my insurance so I pay cash- $100 per visit. I do have insurance that covers the drugs, but even if I didn't, there are a lot of psychiatrists that will take checks, dude. And you can get generic adderall from your pharmacy for under $200 a year.
