Re: 3/6 I has trips, but...
Donks do this with AK. I have a bad track record w/ these.
edit: they also do it with A9 :P |

[ QUOTE ]
Donks do this with AK. [/ QUOTE ] agree! they also do it with AA and other strong hands because they are UTG and the game is aggressive - they probably think "somebody will raise and then i can re-raise / push". and i think you should raise this preflop. i would guess his range is something like AK-A2 (including A4!) and some trash. but you have only $17 in the pot and need to call almost $700 so it's a clear fold for me. wait for a better spot. donks make a lot of bad plays in big pots, but when they get it in like in this hand it screams strenght. you wouldn't think they play the nuts like this, because they waste a ton of value, but if you look 'em up you get reminded why they are donks and you feel like a donk yourself because you stacked off to them... Re: 3/6 I has trips, but...
There's nothing in the pot. Even a donkey with 44 or slowplayed AK/AQ could make this play knowing that an ace is going to call. For me it depends how big a donkey he is. If I think he is capable of making this move with any ace I call. If he is the tricky trappy type who might limp AK then I fold.
Also, because the hand is posted I'm guessing hero was behind? |
