Re: JJ squeeze lp, who calls shove?
If we only consider the hand range of the opponent preflop, he can have :
AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT, AK. Maybe he can do that with 99, 88, AQ, AJ if he's 4 betting light and put you on a squeeze. But against the first hand range, it's about 43/57. So I think you have to call. The fold after the raise depends really on the read you have on him. |

Re: JJ squeeze lp, who calls shove?
I think and agree that if your not willing to call a shove based on how you have been playing you shouldn't 3 bet the hand... but after 3 betting it I think the call was fine because you are beating his pushing range against you here.. Also your calling 80 more into an already $54 pot....
Hope you won the hand. |

Re: JJ squeeze lp, who calls shove?
I snap call. It's about a break-even call against JJ+/AK and I'm sure he shows up with AQs/TT/random stuff some of the time.
[ QUOTE ] Got to be better spots to get your cash in. Usually you're looking at an overpair here - villain was only in for $6 yet is willing to commit his stack. He has to think you have at least a hand like TT, AQ etc and isn't bothered in the least. If he has a strong but not premium hand, wouldn't he flat call and try to use his position post flop? [/ QUOTE ] This is flawed thinking. If he thinks the push is +EV with a wide range, it doesn't matter that he only invested 6$... |

Sorry, stats are 25/20/3.5 [/ QUOTE ] Oh insta-call then. AK so often, he traps a lot with AA/KK. |
