Downtown you may have to pay, but otherwise free parking abounds.

And even downtown if you get validated its free, or you can often use the valet.

The only place to not valet if you are a poker player is at the Wynn. The self park garage is right next to the poker room.

And when you go to the Bellagio, use the side entrance valet off of Flamingo. It is very close to the poker room.

Driving around a rental minivan also sucks in Vegas.

I remember the one time I went to bellagio it took us like 40 minutes to get out of the parking lot because everyone was leaving? maybe there was some big event that I didnt know about

downtown- at the plaza it was $2 all you had to do was stop by security and grab a stamped card.. took 30 seconds tops and then it was free.

oH yeah driving in vegas is redicously awesome if you stay away from the strip... less morons and everything is logical and tons of landmarks... (compared to florida)

Question:
What do most 2+2ers have against walking?

Lived in LV 01-02 and played a lot at the Bellagio.
Self-parked. Not that far from the poker room, imho.
50+ and not in that great of shape.

If it is in the summer and temps well over 100 then I would valet park. Otherwise walking isn't too bad. When we drive there we park the car and don't touch it again until we leave. We used the monorail (before they raised prices)and never had a problem. When we fly there we get a limo from the airport and then use the monorail or walk.

Related question: I am planning my first trip to Vegas and trying to decide between staying somewhere off the strip with a rental car and staying somewhere mid-strip such as Imperial Palace. From IP, I was thinking I could walk to Bellagio and Wynn and save on the rental car costs. Is planning to walk from casino to casino on the strip a bad idea? I probably would be going in early spring, so I assume the heat would be bearable.

every time i've been to vegas, i've walked everywhere. this includes trips in july. i'd assume it'll take you less time to get to the Bell or something walking than you can driving from off strip.

walking isn't that bad, and i was usually walking home by night time anyway.

I haven't been there in a few years. In the past, you parked in a pay lot downtown and got your ticket validated in a casino for some number of free hours. Often you just stamp your own parking ticket at a validation machine at the cashier window.

I never quite understood that. They don't like it if you spend TOO much time gambling at their casino? Yeah, they probably just don't want people leaving their cars while they go off for a couple days, but the 4hr limit is kinda low.

Quite the opposite. They hope you come in and forget all about the time limit then have to pay for the parking. They gotta keep those 40 year old garages standing somehow.
