Default Re: 100: 2pair faces river push

Certainly seems like a good player would have found a raise on the flop or turn with a hand that you're losing to on the river. 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]X [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] probably should have raised that flop, JT should have raised the turn. Set is unlikely based on your holding and the 8 on the river.

That said, it looks like all you're beating is a bluff or a horribly overplayed AK. Its a pretty good spot for a bluff (based on the texture of the board) if he's thinking you've got a big A. Against an unknown I probably fold. If you consider him a good opponent I'd call since a bluff is more likely than something that you're losing to. If you think he's a bad player I'd fold since he likely could have misplayed something that you're losing to.

Also, I probably would have checked the river here and called whatever he bet. Am I giving up too much value checking this river?

i am still having trouble with this hand:

1) this is not three handed, this is 9 handed, i do not why the converter did this.

2) the reason i bet instead of checked is because i wanted value from AK/AJ. i did not think past that much at the time. i feel like in Ace high flops that villain has an ace far more than he has a draw.

3) his all in troubles me. i really do not see a semi-decent player pushing with AK here. that and a busted draw is really all we beat because i doubt anyone would push AJ. also, with the likely possibility of Xd 8d, is this really a call?

BT2, you should change the OP then. 9-handed against a reg, this is either a monster or air. I'm going to say this is a monster, especially since you have such great odds to call.

I can't really figure out what hand plays the way it does though...really, even if he was sticking to his X8 hand all the way to the river, does he really put you on such a strong hand as 2p to be able to call his river shove?

i think b/f is a fine line. you may be bluffed, but lots of worse hands are calling, namely AK, AJ, AT. etc. it really is a weird line, most of the better hands would be raising the turn, if not the flop.
