[ QUOTE ]
As I look back at the hand, it's possible that my turn raise could have folded hands like AJ as well which actually were drawing pretty thick against me (3 Aces for first and fourth, 2 Jacks for trip jacks, 4 tens for broadway) for about 20% equity (against MY holding - not BBs as well). [/ QUOTE ] You could have folded those hands on the flop as well, for cheaper and without them seeing another card. In other words, raise the damn flop. |

***TT = 6 (ahead)
JJ = 3 (behind - runner/runner) QQ = 3 (ahead) KK = 1 (behind - dead) AA = 6 (behind - 5 outs) AK = 8 (behind - 3 outs) ***AQ = 12 (ahead) On the flop, I'm ahead of 3 combos for a reasonable player and behind 18! For a slightly looser player, I'm ahead of 21 combos and behind 18. I agree that a raise is correct against the looser player, but I don't think it's that necessary to risk chips when you are hoping the guy three bet PF with 99, TT, AQ and led out gleefully on a [censored] board after the flop. I try to play a reasonable-aggressive style. I'd appreciate other players' opinions on the subject. |

The BB three-bet preflop so let's put his read-free range on JJ-AA, AK. [/ QUOTE ] In 6-max I think this is far too narrow a range for three betting. |

I would have raised the flop for information more than anything. If you are behind and still want to continue you do get to showdown cheaper than your turn-raise line. Of course if you are ahead there is greater fold equity to the turn raise.

Oy I feel like I get into this every day.
Yes, there are insane people at 6max. No, it's not wise to assume such without a read. And no, I'm not giving him credit for being "a good player" by assuming he's not insane. Would you really wager that an unknown has a worse hand than AK/JJ? |

[/ QUOTE ] Of course not, but we're talking about a hand range here, not what I think he has. I think that AQ, AJ, ATs, TT, and 99 are DEFINITELY in the hand range here, that's all I'm saying. |
