I hate AC, the most depressing place I think anywhere. So why does anyone go there?

Have you ever been to the Borgata? It's an oasis in the AC desert. The rest of the AC casinos are no worse than downtown Vegas, and parts of it are becoming more like the Vegas strip. Within three years, there will be four Borgata-quality casinos built, three of which will be on the boardwalk. And the others are upgrading to keep up. Casears is already really nice. Too bad their poker room is pretty dead. Overall, AC will be changing a lot in the next few years. The money is starting to pour in.

I was at Caesar's Thurs-Sat and it was hopping. Not sure what games you are looking for though, this was mostly 1/2 and 2/5.

I play mostly limit, and they seem to usually have trouble even getting 3/6 games going. I'm just now starting to play NL a little more, so maybe I should check it out more often. Thanks.

I noticed all the cops out directing traffic too. I have no friggin clue as to why. It seemed entirely random.

I think there were a couple of big fires in AC this past weekend. The police may have been directing traffic away from the fire.

On Ocean City, my idea of hell on earth. No booze (even though I quit drinking), kids and bicyles everywhere, everyplace closes at 9, etc.

City slogans:

Atlantic City: Always turned on.
Ocean City: Still waiting for Prometheus.

Yes, a fire. Not sure why you wouldn't just walk down the boardwalk from Ventnor anyway, unless you're going to Harrah's or Borgata.

From the "Press of Atlantic City":

ATLANTIC CITY — A two-alarm fire Saturday caused no major injuries, but threw a major wrench into traffic on one of the resort's busiest weekends.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at 3:38 p.m. on Trenton Terrace, between South Harrisburg and South Trenton avenues. Fire Chief Dennis Brooks said the fire most likely started as an exterior trash fire that spread to the structure.

The warehouse contained lots of fiberglass products, which helped accelerate the flames, Brooks said. Firefighters cut a ventilation hole into the roof of the one-story warehouse, which prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent apartment buildings at 3807 and 3809 Atlantic Ave., Brooks said.

AC needs a monorail. 4 stops on the boardwalk, 2 in the Marina and one at the big parking garage they should build near the intersection of the AC Expressway and the Garden State Parkway.
