So, basically I just thought he was drawing here after the flop call. From the NLHE background, c/c river is the standard line with that read (maybe not with a hand as strong a top 2 in NLHE, but you know what I'm saying).

I guess the difference in this game is the 3 is not as harmless as it appears from a NLHE mindset. Lots of drawing hands also have the 3.

Also, how would you expect someone to play bottom set here (meaning flop + turn)?

Set of 3s will check raise and fold to a shove or sometimes if they put someone on big draw they will call flop and get in it on blank turns. A while back there was a general thread about playing bottom set. The only drawing hands that should have 3 other than a random qjt3 is some version of nut flush draw. Whenever ppl call down with bottom two pair on a drawy board I would make a note.

opponent only needs to bluff here 30% of the time for it to be a good call.
