Fold anyway. The upcards literally could not be worse. If it was only low cards in big ante game I'd consider playing depending on toughness of players. If the A up is a super predictable player and the other upcards were crappier I'd think about playing. I would never play if the A up is a laggy (good or bad) or imaginative player unless it was like 1/4-1/3 bet ante which does not exist in any games I play at the moment.

The game would have to be super-tight for me to consider playing this hand in this position against these door cards. I am not in the habit of sitting in super-tight stud/8 games.

Thanks for the all the replies. I folded pretty quickly and I feel that it was clearly the correct play in hindsight though I almost always would raise split Kings in an unraised pot on 3rd, this was just a terrible spot for the hand.
Here's another 3rd street decision from the same hand, I'm interested in hearing how people would rank raise, fold, and call from this guy's perspective: 7 Card Stud High-Low ($1/$2), Ante $0.10, Bring-In $0.50 (converter) 3rd Street - (0.70 SB) Seat 1: xx xx 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___brings-in Hero: xx xx K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___folds Seat 3: xx xx 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___folds Seat 4: xx xx 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___calls Seat 5: 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___ Seat 7: xx xx 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___ Seat 8: xx xx 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___ |

How is there any dilemma here? Just throw it in the muck.

[ QUOTE ]
If you were playing at a table full of guys who knew how to play correctly and the A was not reckless then raise/fold might be the correct play. [/ QUOTE ] |
