Re: 2007-2008 College Hockey Thread
In hockey it's pretty damn difficult to stay at #1 for very long.
I think football and basketball's very top teams tend to have fewer losses. But you're just not going to have many situations in hockey where some team finishes the regular season 34-2 or something. 5 or 6 losses by the end of the year gives you a decent shot to have the best record in the country. Oh well, Miami at #1 was fun while it lasted. But if they win convincingly tomorrow it's still possible they will hang around in the top 3 and likely still even get a bunch of the 1st place votes. Not that any of that early-season poll stuff really matters very much anyway. |

I'm also a Michigan hockey fan and season ticket holder. Damaniac, I'm one of the 2 guys in the student section with a cowbell. Good start to the season so far, they looked very sloppy for 55 minutes against Alaska last night. I honestly think that we have a chance to be very good this year. Billy Sauer seems to have improved since last year, but you never know with him.

I'm from Minnesota and the only team i like from the U of Minnesota is the hockey team. Being at school @ Kansas makes it tough to watch games, although i sometimes can catch a game here and there.
Go Gophers! |
