There is very little more entertaining than informing locals in a Vegas 4-8 game that you don't chop. I recommend it.

When you sit down, quietly advise your neighbors that you don't chop.

[ QUOTE ]
I have come across less than 5 guys who were good enough players post flop that they shouldn't chop. I think says a lot about my opinion on the matter. [/ QUOTE ] I don't understand this quote. If we forget about the rake for a second, then logically speaking the top 50% of postflop players would be making money by not chopping and the bottom 50% would be losing money. Of course the rake probably imapcts the bottom 1/3rd or so of that to 50%....how can you have only have ever met 5 guys good enough to not chop? |

Just stand up and shout "I'm a nit who doesn't understand how to cultivate a fun table image so I can make more money!" They'll understand... [/ QUOTE ] But playing your blinds IS fun. |

What am I missing? Have you been playing in this room for ONE day? What have you been doing all this time before asking on here?
DesertCat: The 'funniest' no choppers are in the 5-150 (at CAZ, folks). As soon as the sb calls another $2 comes out of the $10 pot. And then they check it down a lot of the times. LOL!!! I've played in that game a total of 15 times or so and I see this over and over. |

Me, personally...I'd much prefer to have a happy-go-lucky 'shucks I got lucky' image, so that's more important to me than not chopping. That said, it's up to you which is more important. |

[ QUOTE ]
PS: for what its worth I chop when playing hold'em live (only Hold'em, I never chop any other game) because I'd like to move on to the next hand quickly and because its good for the game levels that I play in. [/ QUOTE ] TT, I'm curious by your comment. The only other game I can think of that this would come up is Omaha (I guess it's possible in Stud games but with the antes in the pot it seems that it would be less acceptable). Does this mean you do not chop in O8? Wouldn't there be more of a reason to chop in Omaha since the hands runs much closer together than in Holdem? |
